Nicki’s top tips….
If you’ve recently got engaged, congratulations! You’ll want to start planning your wedding now, so here are Nicki’s top tips when it comes to your little pageboys and flower girls.
Children have a habit of growing, so it’s important to leave buying ready to wear outfits for little ones to as near to the wedding as possible. We would suggest no more than 3 months before the wedding and make sure where possible that the children try them on before the big day in case alterations are needed. If you are thinking about ordering bespoke outfits, contact us now – the more time we have, the better.
The most important thing about your young attendants’ outfits is that they are comfortable in them. If the children are wearing something scratchy and uncomfortable all day they’ll be miserable! Make sure you buy something lined and the best quality you can afford.
3. It’s YOUR choice
I always encourage the bride to fulfil her vision when it comes to choosing the style and colour of her flower girl dresses and pageboy outfits and not be overly influenced by anyone else. It’s your day after all.
4. One Style Does Not Fit All
If you do have different aged children, or even a mix of adults and children, don’t be afraid to mix and match styles dresses. It looks very chic to have all your attendants in the same fabric but different, age appropriate styles, or putting the little girls in a contrasting colour or fabric, such as lace always looks stunning.
5. Keep them Entertained
Provide paper and pencils in the ceremony to help keep little ones quiet, and, if possible it’s a good idea to have a separate ‘playroom’ at the reception for toys and DVDs. Some people hire a nanny for a few hours, which means that parents can enjoy the celebrations too!
